Research of material components and technological parameters of wood composites manufacturing (A/ edge glued wood; B/particleboard) with the purpose of high resistance of these composites against microbial attack of bacteria and fungi organisms (moulds, wood-staining fungi, wood-destroying fungi). Research of edge glued wood will be focused on the problem of kind of wood selection and its thermal, hydrothermal and chemical modifications. Research of particleboard, with the condition of saving of its wood-species structure (90% coniferous + 10% hardwood) and the type of glue (UF), will be focused on two parts: -1/modification of the surface layer of particleboard during its manufacturing by using of new-created hydrophobical and ecological and healthy-friendly biocides on the base of silver, heterocycles and others additives; 2/ surface treatment of particleboard with the special lamination folia (treated with additives) and veneers. Optimum designed and prepared wood composites will be permanently resistant against bacteria and fungi attack in harder interior expositions and their physical and mechanical properties will remain at the required level according to the technical standards. Research of wood composites resistant against microorganisms will be carried out at laboratories of TU in Zvolen and in cooperation with Bučina DDD.
