Disturbance regime, structure of the selected forests of Western Carpathians and the research of the silvicultural technologies focused on the sustainable development of the forests in Slovakia

Content of the project survey is devided into two main research areas. The first area is the research of the disturbance regime, structure, regeneration processes, texture and canopy gaps created by gapmakers in selected primeval forests in Slovakia (NNR Oblík, Sitno primeval forest). The characteristics of the productive and structural parameters, canopy gaps and texture of the mentioned primeval forests should represent the research outcome.
The second topic is the research of the optimal production models of the selection forests with the different function, suitable silvicultural technologies /models/ and reconstruction in the stands under the tree line in the Low Tatras orographic unit.
