It offers possibility to apply brand new methods of shallow geophysics and soil-hydrological survey methodically systemized for forestry purposes, specifically for prognosis of forest infrastructure based on mapping of areas in forested catchments, which are endangered by hillslope water and spatial dislocations in soil and substrate sediments. Such critical areas could be to some extent localized by classical methods of optical recognition of the terrain (vegetation, sediment transportation paths, areas of water exfiltration) as well, but it is not possible to get important quantitative data (soil depth, thickness of particular horizons and layers as continual record, occurrence of inhomogenities, cracks, soil skeleton, rooting of trees etc.) by using only these classical methods.
