The influence of the drying process on change the properties and quality beech timber containing reaction wood and red heartwood

The issue of implementation of the project is focused on the evaluation and verification of the impact change on drying characteristics and quality of the timber with red heartwood and reaction wood for beech (Fagus sylvatica L.). The project will analyse the defects of structure in the drying process. Special attention will be devoted to moisture and stress fields, change the colour difference and warping. The methods to be applied to reduce of defects associated with the contents of the reaction timber and red heartwood in the drying process, the load of the timber stack in the drying process. Relevant knowledge of these properties can help us to improve the quality and to increase the efficiency of production and it also may bring significant financial savings.
