The proposed project is devoted to the analyses of natural hazards occurrence risks under conditions of a forthcoming climate change. Emission scenarios, global circulation models and climate scenarios derived from them assume the increase of climate extremes (heavy precipitation, floods, landslides, drought, floods, wildland fires, windthrow, snow-breakage, insect overpopulation, pathogens). The issues of energetic and water balance changes are to be investigated and evaluated will be mainly risks of increased water deficit and drought of ecosystems. This is followed by modelling changes of ecosystems growth processes under changing environmental conditions and the increased frequency of natural disasters occurrence, as well. The evalution of climate change impacts on the profitability of a forest land management with a special focus on water protection, social functions of forests and natural heritage is assumed. The proposal of adaption and mitigation measures based on this information will result.
