The project is aimed at creating the technical infrastructure and supporting of excellent research. In focusing on the completion of the infrastructure it deals with creation of conditions and computational capabilities for computationally intensive acquisition, processing and storage of advanced Remote sensing data, the simulation of landscape-ecological systems, application of methods and principles of precision forestry and decision support in forest and landscape management. In research part, the project is focused on the experimental and methodological base for precision forestry establishing, methods for obtaining information on forest and land using combined techniques, progressive approaches to research climate change and their impacts on forests and land, the development of the evaluation, forecasting and modeling changing conditions the forest, improving decision-making for forest management and landscape changes in the structure and characteristics of the landscape in terms of natural and anthropogenic influences. The project is divided to four specific aims, which targets are met by 13 activities.
