Increment reactions of main tree species in the region of the Western Carpathians with respect to recent climate changes

The project is focused to gradient and spatial quantification and analysis of radial increment changes of selected tree species (Picea abies Karst, Abies alba L., Fagus sylvatica L.) in the region of the Western Carpathians. The objective of the study is quantification of climate changes influence to tree species growth and proposal of management measures for the needs of adaptive planning in forest growing on highly productive sites. Quantification and analysis of recent climate change influence upon tree species radial increments will be realized employing dendrochronological procedures. As a result will be quantification of tree species increment changes, shifts of production efficiency curves and analysis of vegetation zones shifts.
